- Account registration: Display name, email address, password (hashed), date of birth (to verify 18+ eligibility), and selected role (findomme / paypig)
- Profile information: Profile photo, location (city-level only, never precise address), bio text, and any optional details you choose to add
- Verification documents: If you choose to verify your account, we collect identity documentation. This is processed securely and is not shared publicly or with other members
- Communications: Messages sent through our contact form and any support correspondence
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform, and interaction data (clicks, searches)
- Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Cookies: Session cookies (required for login), preference cookies (your settings), and analytics cookies. See Section 7 for details
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Display your profile to other members (according to your privacy settings)
- Verify your identity and NZ residency (verification tier only)
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
- Communicate with you about your account, security, and platform updates
- Analyse platform usage to improve features and performance
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and illegal activity
We do not use your information to display third-party advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
4. Information Shared With Others
Other Members
Your profile — including display name, profile photo, location (city only), bio, and online status — is visible to other registered members. Your real name and email address are never displayed publicly.
You control your privacy settings. You may restrict profile visibility to verified members only, or make your profile completely private.
Service Providers
We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate the platform:
- Hosting: Our infrastructure provider stores platform data in secure data centres
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymised usage analytics to understand platform performance
- Email delivery: To send account notifications and support responses
All service providers are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed by us and to maintain appropriate security standards.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or lawful request from New Zealand law enforcement authorities — including in cases involving CSAM, fraud, or credible threats of harm.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When you close your account:
- Your profile is removed from public view immediately
- Your personal information is deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g., records required by law)
- Anonymised, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you

6. Data Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. Our measures include:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Passwords stored as hashed values — we never store plain-text passwords
- Access to personal data restricted to authorised personnel only
- Regular security reviews of our platform and infrastructure
No online platform can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
7. Cookies
FinDomNZ uses cookies to operate and improve the platform. The types of cookies we use:
- Essential cookies: Required for login sessions, security, and core platform functionality. Cannot be disabled without breaking the platform.
- Preference cookies: Remember your settings (theme, display preferences). Can be cleared in your browser settings.
- Analytics cookies: Collect anonymised data about how the platform is used (pages visited, feature usage). We use privacy-first analytics and do not share this data with ad networks.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.
8. Your Rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct any inaccurate personal information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)

9. Children's Privacy
FinDomNZ is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete all associated data. If you believe a minor has registered on the platform, please contact us immediately at support@findomnz.com.
10. Links to Third-Party Sites
The Platform may contain links to external websites (e.g., payment services, social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered members via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
